数年前から英会話学習に取り組んでいる。
目指すレベルの目標はもっとも近い星雲ほど遠くにある気がするが、もっとも近い星雲がどれほどの距離にあるのか知らないので、さほど不安はない。
たとえば次のような日本語を英語にすらすら変換できたらいいな、などと願望を抱きつつ学習に励んでいるわけだ。

「裸の王様」は、自身が裸であることを恥ずかしいと思わず、平然とパレードを続ける王様の話です。
「The Emperor’s New Clothes」 is a metaphor that suggests that Donald Trump is surrounded by ‘yes-men,’ does not listen to those who criticize him, and is perhaps, like the Emperor’s new clothes in the fairy tale, unable to see what is going on around him.
「トランプ 裸の王様」は、ドナルド・トランプ氏が「イエスマン」に囲まれ、自分を批判する声を聞き入れず、童話の「裸の王様」のように周囲の状況が見えていないのではないか、という比喩表現です。

ノーベル賞は「まだかの王様」ともいわれています。
